In previous posts I have admitted that I’m not a good crafter but I have a 5 year old that loves doing crafts. So I find myself going to Michaels a lot to find inspiration and things that we can do together. I also look at my favoriate app, Pinterest, for ideas. During my last trip to Michaels I stumbled onto Melty Beads. They had them in the section with the christmas crafts. They were on sale for 50 cents each. So I grabbed a few. It looked interesting. It was a hit. If you buy a kit it comes with: melty beads, peg board, wax paper, and a pattern to follow. Sounded like a good deal to me.
My daughter enjoyed making the craft. You place the beads on the peg board following the pattern. Once you are done, you carefully take the completed board to your ironing board. Place the wax paper on top and iron for about 30 seconds to a minute till the beads meld together. Once they are cool, take off of the peg board, turn over. Cover the other side with wax paper, and iron the other side. Let cool, then its done. For those of us, non crafters that are trying to get better at crafting, I give this a thumbs up. The cost to try this craft is so low, it’s definitely worth a try.
