Another great kitchen gadget is the casserole dish. For years I cooked all of my casseroles in glass. Glass is great and it lasts forever. The glass pans I have, I’ve had for over 15 years. They always wash up great. One of my favorite cooks is the Pioneer Woman. I have all of her cookbooks and she has one of the few cook shows I watch on a regular. She recently came out with a line of cookware. Most of it doesn’t fit my kitchen decor, since her stuff is more country and my kitchen is decorated in more of a classic style. I’ve wanted a ceramic casserole dish for a while. I looked at the Food Networks cookware that is carried at Kohls and I’ve also looked at Rachel Rays that is carried at Wal-Mart. I didn’t like the price of Food Networks cookware and I didn’t like the shape of Rachel Rays. I wanted a cute rectangular casserole dish. I was also afraid if it would be hard to clean. So I just kept using my trusty glass dishes. Once Pioneer Woman came out with hers, I decided to check them out. And they were being carried at my favorite store, Wal-Mart. It was at a good price ($19.72 at Wal-Mart) and they looked really cute. Since I was only buying two casserole dishes it wouldn’t clash with my kitchen decor. So I went ahead and bought them. You’ll notice in my prior post I used the smaller one for the Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole. It worked great, the food looked great in it, and it washed up nice. I would recommend, if you don’t already have a ceramic casserole dish.
