Low Calorie Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

Its the start of the new year and with that comes New Years Resolutions.  Yup you guessed it, mine is to lose weight.  I’ve got about 40 pounds I’d like to lose.  Hopefully by the summer, so I can wear some cute summer clothes.  What I have figured out over the years, for weight loss what has worked for me is to replace one meal a day with a meal replacement.  I’m always looking for a good meal replacement that is tasty and filling.  I researched on the internet for one that met those two requirements.  The number one recommended meal replacement was IdealShake.  So I tried it.  But of course I had to jazz it up:

Low Calorie Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

  • 1 Scoop Chocolate IdealShake (or whatever Whey Protein Mix you like)
  • 2 Tbps PB2
  • 1 Banana, frozen
  • 1 Cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1 Cup Ice
  • Whip Cream

Pour all ingredients into a blender, except the whip cream, and blend.  When making smoothies I like to use frozen fruits.  I think it gives the smoothie a better texture.  My chocolate smoothies tend to remind me of a Wendy’s frosty, with a lot less calories.  After its blended, pour into a glass, and top with whip cream.  I’ll warn you that this yields a pretty large smoothie.  The picture shown above is only 2/3 of the amount.  You will definately be satisfied after you drink this smoothie.  Thumps up on the taste and all for 300 calories!
