I’m not big into drinking smoothies. I’ve tried a few and had yet found any that I’d liked. I went to Starbucks and tried a sweet greens smoothie. It was gross, tasted like liquid greens with a lot of sugar. I like my greens savory not sweet. I guess that’s what I should have expected, the drink was called sweet greens. Then I went to Smoothie King and got some chocolate smoothie. It tasted like chalk. However, kept trying them thinking I just hadn’t found the right one. Especially since so many people like them. Then I decided to try making my own. When I made my own with just some basic ingredients, they were really good. I’ve only made a few different ones. This one is better than any fruit smoothie I have ever bought. I bought a big bag of frozen mixed fruit from Sams. In the bag there was 6 separate bags of fruit. The basic recipe is:
- One small frozen bag of mixed fruit. The mixed fruit had pineapple, strawberries, peaches, and mangos
- One 8 oz can of pineapple juice
- One cup of yogurt, whatever flavor you like. I use either vanilla or strawberry
- One cup of ice
This makes about 2 smoothies. Its way too much for one. I garnished it with some whipped topping. I just really like how the whipped topping makes it look. They say you eat with your eyes. I hope you enjoy!
